Core Services

HB-1182 Compliance • Wildfire Risk Documentation • Mitigation Education

ROMO Fire provides third-party wildfire risk assessment, documentation, and education services designed to help Colorado insurance carriers, agents, and property owners comply with House Bill 1182 (HB-1182).

We do not replace underwriting. We support compliance, transparency, and defensible decision-making.

Wildfire Risk Assessments & FireScore Reports

ROMO Fire conducts property-specific wildfire risk assessments using a combination of on-site inspections, remote data analysis, and community-level risk indicators.

Each assessment produces a ROMO FireScore Report that documents:
• Property-specific wildfire risk factors
• Defensible space and structural mitigation features
• Community-level mitigation considerations
• DOI-defensible documentation

These reports support underwriting documentation, policyholder education, and HB-1182 transparency requirements.

HB-1182 Compliance Support for Insurance Carriers

HB-1182 requires insurers using wildfire risk models or scoring methods to provide transparency, documentation, and appeal pathways.

ROMO Fire supports carriers by:
• Documenting property-specific mitigation factors
• Producing standardized wildfire risk reports
• Supporting policyholder score explanations
• Maintaining consistent compliance workflows

Our role is to reduce operational burden while strengthening documentation quality.

Mitigation Documentation & Verification

ROMO Fire documents wildfire mitigation actions at the property and community level, including:
• Defensible space improvements
• Structural mitigation features (where applicable)
• Evidence-based mitigation reporting
Mitigation documentation may support score explanations, re-scoring considerations, and policyholder retention.
ROMO Fire does not perform construction work unless separately contracted through approved service partners.

Wildfire Risk Score Explanations & Appeals Support

HB-1182 requires insurers to provide policyholders with a clear process to understand and appeal wildfire risk scores.

ROMO Fire provides:
• Plain-language wildfire risk explanations
• Documentation-based appeal support
• Third-party clarification services

This approach reduces escalation, improves understanding, and maintains consistent records for carrier review.

H.O.M.E. Series — Home Owner Mitigation Education

The H.O.M.E. Series is ROMO Fire’s structured wildfire education and mitigation training program.

The program is designed to:
• Educate homeowners on wildfire risk scoring
• Explain meaningful mitigation actions
• Support HB-1182 education requirements
• Reduce confusion during underwriting and renewal

The H.O.M.E. Series may also be offered as a Continuing Education (CE) course for insurance agents, subject to approval.
